What is Personal Information and why are we collecting it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include: names, addresses, email addresses, phone and other contact numbers.

This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including merchant applications, credit reports, public domain and from third parties. However, where possible, we will try to collect personal. information from yourself.

We collect your Personal Information for the main purpose of providing you with a merchant facility, conducting account maintenance and providing account settlement services. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the main purpose if required, and, in circumstances where it is reasonable to do so. An example of this is working with a solicitor or accountant.

We may also use your personal information, with your consent, to provide additional products and services in conjunction with our product partners

When we collect Personal Information we will, unless prohibited by law, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Collection of some of this information is required by the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006. If you provide incomplete or incorrect information we will be unable to provide you with the merchant facility you are applying for.

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties such a credit reporting bureau or a government website. of the Personal Information will be stored in client files which will be kept by us during the tenure of the merchant relationship and for a period of 7 years after termination of contract.
