This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including merchant applications, credit reports, public domain and from third parties. However, where possible, we will try to collect personal. information from yourself.

We collect your Personal Information for the main purpose of providing you with a merchant facility, conducting account maintenance and providing account settlement services. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the main purpose if required, and, in circumstances where it is reasonable to do so. An example of this is working with a solicitor or accountant.

We may also use your personal information, with your consent, to provide additional products and services in conjunction with our product partners

When we collect Personal Information we will, unless prohibited by law, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.

Collection of some of this information is required by the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006. If you provide incomplete or incorrect information we will be unable to provide you with the merchant facility you are applying for.

What Is Sensitive Information?

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

• For the main purpose for which it was obtained

• With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

Generally, we do not collect sensitive information.

Will You Collect Personal Information from Third Parties?

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties such a credit reporting bureau or a government website. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.

Your Personal Information will be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

• Third parties such as credit reporting bureau’s where you consent to the use or disclosure; and

How Do We Secure Your Personal Information?

Your Personal Information is encrypted and stored on secure servers in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. No personal information is held offshore.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most

of the Personal Information will be stored in client files which will be kept by us during the tenure of the merchant relationship and for a period of 7 years after termination of contract.
